It's No Bake Week!

Hello! It's Week 6 of The Great Social Distance Bake Off!

I'm getting this post up much later than I wanted to but here it is! While many parts of the country are starting to reopen, the DC area just extended our stay-at-home order for another few weeks. My office just announced that we'll be teleworking at least through June 30 so this is still looking like a very long road ahead.

I hope you're all staying safe, healthy, and perhaps most importantly, sane!

This Week is No Bake Week!

When I set this challenge several weeks ago, I assumed it would be warm and that our ovens would all need a little bit of a break while our ACs cranked. We had two blissful days of temperatures in the 80s here in DC but it got pretty cold again so I'm not exactly loving that my dessert for the week is a frozen cheesecake...no matter how tasty it is!

Hopefully, it actually feels like May wherever you are and the No-Bake Week will be a refreshing change! Your entries this week should be prepared anywhere but your oven - the stove, slow cooker, blender - whatever you choose, but one of your entries must be a cold one!

I chose a Frozen Banoffee Cheesecake from Jamie Oliver's cookbook, 5 Ingredients. I made a crust out of tea biscuits and made my own dulce de leche on the stovetop. While this dessert is delicious, it doesn't taste at all like banoffee pie...or cheesecake. It's more like frozen banana pudding.

I've seen so many fun no-bake treats from slow cooker molten chocolate cakes, to microwave mug cakes, puddings set in the refrigeratior...and there's always ice cream! The possibilities are endless and I hope you have fun with this one!

On your mark, get set, bake!
