Marathon Training Week 5

So I just realized I never posted this on Monday like I usually do, so here goes!

Week 5
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 5 mile run
Wednesday: 20 minute elliptical training; upper body strength training
Thursday: 5-6 mile run
Friday: 3 mile run; strength training
Saturday: Rest Day
Sunday: 10k Race!

I was really worried that I hurt my foot after Saturday because I was in a lot of pain through yesterday, so I was shocked when I ran a full 5 miles today when I expected to fall short at 2 or 3!

My 5 mile playlist was:
"Best Days of Your Life" - Kelly Pickler
"Candle 'Sick and Tired'" - The White Tie Affair
"Check Yes Juliet" - We the Kings
"Dear Maria, Count Me In" - All Time Low
"Girl All the Bad Guys Want" - Bowling for Soup
"Five Minutes to Midnight" - Boys Like Girls
"Halfway Gone" - Lifehouse
"Jesses Girl" - Rick Springfield
"Just Dance" - Lady Gaga
"King of Wishful Thinking" - Go West
"Sex on Fire" - Kings of Leon
"Slide" - Goo Goo Dolls
"Party in the USA" - Miley Cyrus
"We Weren't Born to Follow" - Bon Jovi

Definitely not the best playlist as I got bored around 2 miles, so I'll have to come up with something new for Thursday! I'll keep you all posted!

  1. You have to feel super good about yourself for sticking with all of this running!! I'm sure you're seeing great results from it too :-) Good playlist but I would have been bored too. I think you just need to add more songs to it!

  2. dude, your playlist is fantastic! There are some songs that I also listen to, but I'll have to add a few from this list. There are a couple songs that, no matter when they come on, I can keep running!

    there are a few more, but if you don't have those songs, maybe check them out. they aren't for everyone, but they definitely work for me! good job on 5 miles!
