Feeling... pumped. I ran home from work last night, a distance of about 7 miles. I had 7 miles of hill repeats on deck but the route is mostly flat. My training plan also called for 4 miles with 2 at marathon goal pace (MGP) so I decided to see what I could do and ran the last two miles (up hill) at a MGP I didn't think was even possible this training cycle.
Reading... "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" by Fannie Flagg. I'm almost done and I love it. I'm amazed that someone could write so much one-sided dialogue.
Watching... "Once Upon a Time" I stumbled on this series on Netflix and really like it. Have you seen it?
Thinking about... our anniversary trip...which we still haven't planned. Unfortunately, The Pilot doesn't get any vacation this year (yea, read that sentence again) and while he can usually turn his typical 3 days off into more, he won't know his schedule for September until mod August so there isn't much planning we can do...but things have been insane since coming back from Lisbon and I need another vacation...preferably of the roast-on-a-beach type.
Working on... balancing training with work and life. This week is going much better than the last few. I still need a massage though.
Loving... baseball. For the first time in years, the Mets are actually doing well. They were in DC this week and The Pilot and I went to see them with our friend Jen. They needed to win the series and, while we got to see them win on Tuesday, they lost on Monday and Wednesday...which isn't great.
Needing... to write my Lisbon posts! I'm so sad that I haven't had time to spend on my blog lately! I've got a low key weekend ahead and plan on changing all of that!
Seeing in DC... the Cuban Embassy. The Pilot and I went to Embassy Row last night to pay a visit to the newly reopened embassy of my fatherland (literally). I had butterflies in my stomach waiting to see the Cuban flag flying for the first time in my life...only it wasn't. After posting about it on Instagram, I've come to the conclusion that they must take it down every night...even though it's only been up for 3 days.

Grateful for... really awesome landlords. We went out with them and our neighbors this past weekend and had an awesome time.
Excited about... the fact that it's only the middle of the summer. Stop saying summer is almost over people. We still have 7 weeks to Labor Day and I'm determined to get in some beach time between now and then.
What's on your list?
