Three Things Thursday

1. Marine Corps - Until yesterday, I was very seriously considering not running the Marine Corps Marathon. I'm terribly undertrained and just haven't felt up to running lately but somehow, after dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in almost 5 years (who is 6 months pregnant) and a long talk about running, I decided against not running. I've got my work cut out for me, that's for sure. MCM may not be the goal race I dreamed of, but I still have every intention of toeing the line on October 27.

2. Autumn - It's Fall. There's no way around it. While it doesn't officially start until Sunday, the long sleeves I donned for this morning's run and the need for a hoodie for Peyton's morning walks is proof enough that it's Fall. I'm not thrilled about this fact and may leave DC for San Diego for the winter months.

3. Eugene - This year, I was supposed to run the Eugene Marathon. I registered basically the day registration opened...and then I got offered my job and was told that I would be in Denver for work on Race Day. Well, this year, the Eugene Marathon has been moved to July...six weeks before the wedding, which means...I'll be making my way out west for a little marathon action next summer. It's going to be awesome.

I'm so glad it's almost the weekend. This week has been exhausting. I'm ready to bake boat loads of pumpkin things and battle with myself over shorts versus capris for my weekend long run.

Have a good one!

  2. I think you're the first person I know of that's happy with that Eugene change, haha. Glad it's going to work out for you next year!
And if the original weekend is still free for you, you should finally do the Nashville Country Music Half with me! ;)

  4. I am the same way about my race right now. Even today, I just wasn't convinced it was going to happen...but you convinced me! Even if I have to walk and crawl across the finish line, I'll still do it. Thanks for the motivation!
