Welcome to Planes, Trains, and Running Shoes! Thanks for stopping by!
I'm Christy. I'm a 20-something running, travel, and lifestyle blogger living in Washington, DC. I started Planes, Trains, and Running Shoes in 2010 as a way to chronicle my adventures completing a list of 25 things before I turned 25.
I ran my first half-marathon in 2010 and signed up for my first marathon that night. I've run six ms since then and have no intention of slowing down.
I blog about running, trying my hand at different recipes, especially homemade versions of kitchen staples, exploring my still-new-to-me home of DC (it's been 3 years), and traveling with (and without) my airline pilothusband.
Whether it's surfing in Hawaii, food touring in Europe, or riding abra boats in Dubai, I'm always looking for my next adventure! I'm not one to shy away from spontaneity and with a pilot for a husband, our adventures tend to be much less planned than even we might like.
Outside of this blog, I work in nonprofit fundraising. I'm on a mission to visit every major league baseball stadium before I turn 25 30. (I have eight more to go. Let's go Mets!) I'm a pescatarian. I have a Master's degree in International Development. I love to read.
