I ran the exact same marathon a year prior and I did look back at my spreadsheet and paces and times I ran the year before and it was very motivational to see how much I improved over that year. My doc said it was...I've had this same problem. My doc said it was inflammation and gave me some arthritis medicine sample. They worked well... And then I ran out and kind of just ran through the pain, which eventually went away. I don't write too much about my training.. just little bits every once in a while. I keep track of everything with a spreadsheet and daily mile though.
