1. After fighting a nasty upper respiratory infection all of last week, I'm finally feeling like myself again and not like someone with an elephant strapped to her chest. Love.
2. Yesterday's 16 mile run was the hardest run I've done since Madrid...which was the hardest run I've ever done. It's really tough to fight for miles like that, but I did it and I finished. Don't Love.
3. These are the runs that make you strong and able to fight for those tough miles at the end of a marathon. I don't think I ever would have finished Marine Corps if I hadn't had the race from hell at Staten Island 3 weeks before. New York, I'm coming for you. Love.
4. Despite being sick and taking 3 rest I'm-so-sick-I-can't-get-off-my-couch days, I still managed to run 30 out of my planned 36 miles last week. None of them were technique workouts, but I'm happy that I didn't miss out on too much mileage and was still able to run long. Love.
5. I need to go to Texas. Stat. I made Ally promise me that if I didn't come to Texas in September, that she wouldn't speak to me until Christmas. I will go to Texas this month. I've been trying to go all summer and things just keep getting in the way. But in September, it will happen. Don't Love (that I haven't been there...not that I'm going).
6. I caved and joined Pinterest. I like it, I just don't quite understand the purpose of it as a social media tool...but I like it...there are some great outfit ideas on there and let's not get started on the desserts. Love.
7. I really wish there was something in addition to marathon training that was consuming my life right now. Don't Love.

That's what's on tap for this Monday!
I've got a busy day ahead of me but I'm super excited for this week!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

I miss catching up with you on here! I've been way too busy, but it sounds like you have been too. I'm excited to hear more about your marathon training, you're going to rock it :-D I hope you make it down to Texas soon!!
ReplyDeleteMy 16 miler also sucked. You can't win them all and as you implied, the bad runs won't necessarily define your race. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you come to TX, come to Houston!! :)
I'm glad you are feeling better. And congrats on a 30mile week, especially since you were sick!! NYC marathon: watch out!!
ReplyDeleteIf you're coming to Texas in September, get ready for the heat! We don't get to experience fall until mid-October, but it's great then.
