Happy Monday! It's been awhile since I've put a Love/Don't Love post up so here goes!
1. This weekend, I got to spend some quality time with The Pilot. We went and saw "The Lorax" and hung out with his puppy (who now, finally, after 3 years likes and accepts me) before he left for his current trip. Love.
2. Apparently my opinion about The Hunger Games has really pissed some people off. If I offended you by not falling head over heels for this series, I'm not sorry. I'm entitled to my opinion. Don't Love.
3. Speaking of The Hunger Games, I'm half way through the third book in the series and while I didn't love (but didn't hate) the first or the second books, I"m actually enjoying the third one. Love. *Cue the controversial comments*
4. Next week is NYU's Spring Break. I will be getting wild and crazy at my desk with my thesis the whole week. Don't Love.
5. This weekend, I ran 18 miles. It went surprisingly fast. I chased my run down with a 16 Handles date with just about every member of the New York City blogging/running community and it was awesome. Love.
6. Tomorrow, marathon training brings me back to face those dreaded Yasso 800s. The last time I did these, I couldn't walk for 3 days afterward. So I haven't tried them again but hopefully some advice from Morgan after my last attempt should help. I hope. Don't Love.
7. I had a meeting with my thesis advisor today. I'm a little bit behind after being sick for 2 weeks but she thinks I'm in ok shape and that as long as I work really hard over the next week, I'll be in good shape. So, commense working really hard. Love.
8. Last week, when I posted about my entry into the Cherry Blossom, I was on Cloud 9. Until I realized that that isn't my first week of taper, it's the weekend I'm supposed to be doing my 24 mile run and then tapering. Oops. I'm still planning to run it but will have to find a way to cram 10 mile race and a 24 mile run into that week. Don't Love.
9. Yesterday was my 2 year blog-i-versary and I hit 300 posts last week! Thanks for reading! Love.

So that's my Monday in a nutshell! This week brings with it Yasso 800s, a 20 mile run, thesis-ing and planning some not-so spontaneous events for the month of March!
How's your Monday shaping up?

I can't believe people got offended by your opinion of the Hunger Games! I enjoyed the books a lot. I was entertained. Were they the best literature? No. That was fine with me. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion!
ReplyDeleteCan you add miles before the Cherry Blossom race? Or do you have your heart set on racing it? That is a lot for one weekend. Or maybe because you have a more flexible schedule do your 24 miler like Thursday or Friday if the race is Sunday or Wednesday or Thursday if the race is Saturday. You might not be in peak "racing" form but it is more doable. Good luck with everything!
Halfway through book 2 over here and as far as I'm concerned your comments were spot on. Spike also said that book 3 was the best so I'm looking forward to it next!
ReplyDeleteAlso, as long as you keep posting, I'll be sure to keep reading friend! <3
Nice work on your long run! How fun, ice cream with other running bloggers!! Good luck getting working on that thesis, I can imagine it must be hard to get motivated sometimes. I had a class like that, where I didn't GO to class, the whole semester was for us to write this huge paper and it was mentally tough for me.
ReplyDeleteI read The Hunger Games. I liked the first book. The second one I skimmed more. And the third one I abandoned. We are in the minority though for sure.
ReplyDeleteBahahaha I love that people have gotten pissed off about your comments. Maybe people need to take a hint from our lovely disagreeing words. I think we were civil in our conversation :) But then I guess some people just need to grow up. Oh wells, I'm jealous of your little blogging/running/eating 16 handles. The downside of not living in NYC. Still keeping my fingers crossed about the NYCM..
ReplyDeleteThe third book was actually my least favorite, but of course you're entitled to your own opinion! I would never be upset that you didn't like the series; I didn't write it! lol I'm interested to see what you think when the series is over. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!! Now I’m a member of it. thanks for sharing us.hope you follow me backnike zoom rookie shoes.
